Thumbs up speed limiter

how would i go about removing the speed limiter? im assuming that it is electronic? has anyone done this? i do have the jetchip stage 1 but it seems to be just helping torque and acceleration.

superchips is the only way I know of. and it only goes to 140 (yes I found the d@mn advanced options menu billy...jk). Not sure if I'd feel safe in this truck going that fast.....lol

Mine is set at 140 right now, but 117 is the fastest I have had it, and I dont really care to wind it up any further. Lol

I've been to 120 and that is fast enough for these trucks. SCT, Superchips, hypertech and diablo all disable the speed limiter.

05-07 can use SCT with custom tunes.
08+ can use Diablo with custom tunes.

Default jetchip

well let me say this:

1.) without the jetchip for some reason my gas gauge is not accurate. that meaning it will stay on the full needle for 150 miles then go down quickly. after i put the chip in, i assume that it resets everything for the chips stats. it is a hell of alot more accurate of a reading.

2.) torque off the line is noticeably different. (ie: i did the chip before the exhaust and cai and tb) i can tell from a stop hitting the gas that the shift points are tighter as the rpms dont stay high for a few seconds and then shift.

3.) acceleration after 60 is noticeably higher.

4.) top speed with all my mods is 124. i only know because of my gps saying that.

Next time you do that throw up a video. I would like to see how long it takes to get up there. I have never maxed mine out, I might one of these days.

Wheres superdak when you need him? lol Sorry man, I had too!

I think my speed limiter is set around 125... I dont foresee the truck getting near or beyond that... I have been to 118ish and it still was climbing, but pretty slow and I was running out of road, but whatever, I dont care about speed, I love the low end grunt it has and the pulling power for its size
