In my dak the amp is under the front passenger kick panel. You will need to re-wire the whole system unless you use one of this:

Good luck!

Thanks for making sure I wasn't going to use those wires, but i have 4 gauge that I plan on running

hmm...maybe that IS the satellite receiver or something. I gotta look at mine more closely, maybe thats not an amp under the back seat....thats kinda small for a "supposedly" 286 watt amp....

thats for the XM radio aka satilite radio. the amp is located under the passangers side of the dash behind the kick panal and it will say infinity on it and its got lots of fins and is black. as far as installing radios i have been doing it in ever car truck suv bus tractor boat even a few bikes well lets just say everything that i drive has some kind of bass. most times i use the factor amp. if you go to you local radio shack and tell him you need to comvert from speaker wire to an rca they will know what you need its a converter they run about 25 bucks. you intall them my hooking the lines to the speaker wire just before the rear speakers. (stock amp WILL NOT BE AFFECTED) this will allow you to connect to the after market amp. i do suggest not running the power wire threw the fender like most people that dont know cars do. but as far as connecting the remote wire. you can use an empty slot in the fuse panel and if tested with a test light can find the one that the key shuts off. i also do not suggest removing the rear plastics it will allow for loss of heat in the winter and fogging of the rear window when running a/c.

both are installed in the back seat location of my 1997 dadge dakota club cab sport. there are two amps located under each passangers and drivers seat. together equaling 4400 watts. i have a secondary battery as a power supply. which is charged by a 0 gage power wire ran to the connection of the main battery. also a 12 gage alt feed from a true charge. both are fused with 100 watt fuses and i have a complete shut down switch to allow from extended parking and for winter when i remove the subs because there liquid cooled and will freeze.
