absolutely right. Some don't... but those are mostly the very first ones - older cars. You really don't need them anymore if you are confident your truck won't start on fire. Some companies put the fire shielding materials in the plastic cover piece that goes over the motor now instead of over the whole engine bay.

That being said... it IS slightly noisier. Didn't mind me since the CAI makes a good growl.

 

Well with all the positive answers here, it's safe to say, it's ok to NOT have a hoodliner. Appreciate all the responses folks!!

 

Mine has been off for 2 years, and I have one of those Mexican Monday trucks with loads of issues, and no issue with the hood liner so far. If something does happen, I will just invest in one of those fancy hood scoops and cover it up lol
