If you want your truck to look its best it has nothing to do with what wax or sealant you apply to your truck. Apply an expensive wax will not make the car look any better then apply a wax you can get at Advance Auto Parts unless the paint underneath is perfect. It all starts with polishing. This will help get rid of imperfection, minor scratches, and swirl marks. This will make your paint look deeper and really bring up the gloss.
If you are a beginner when it come to polishing I would start with a Dual Action polisher. The Griot's Garage DA is $129 and comes with a lifetime warranty. I broke 1 being stupid and they replaced it no questioned asked. Now there are tons of polishes out there but for starters I would start with the Wolfgang Total Swirls Remover and Wolfgang Finishing Glaze.
Now there are a lot of choices for backing plates and pads but what I have found using the Griot's Garage DA is that the 5'' backing plate with a 5.5'' pad works best. For starters I would get 2, 6 packs of Lake Country 5.5'' Flat Pads from Auto Geek there about $39 get 6 orange (use with Swirl Remover) 5 white (use with Finishing Glaze) 1 Blue use with sealant.
Now when it come to waxes and sealant I have tried them all, Pinnacle Souveran, Wolfgang Fuzion, Poorboy's World Natty, P21S, DP Max Wax, Chemical Guys, ect. If the surface you are Appling them to is prepped properly they will all look good. If you have a budget this is what I would get
Griot's Garage DA
5'' Backing Plate
2 6 Packs of Lake Country Flat Pads
XMT Clay
Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover
Wolfgang Finishing Glaze
DP Poli Sealant
You can find everything at www.autogeek.net also they have a forum with tones and tones of How To videos
