Sully, the HHR fan is what I use, as well as a few other members. I think I got mine for around that same price. I also use the SPAL controller. Let me find my write up on installation for a 3.7L and I will post it up.

Yea HHR fan is the way to roll, and I also used the Spal controller to hook mine up, heres a link http://www.a1electric.com/Merchant2/...ode=FAN-PWM-V3

My HHR fan is awesome. Perfect fit, quiet, and i could feel the extra HP the moment i installed the fan. It was 110 here today with the ac on full blast and in traffic with the 195 degree factory thermostat, the temp gauge never went over 1/2.

Nah, thats way more than you need, just go to Advance Auto Parts or something similar, just take your Spal Controller wire harness with you and they can match a temp sensor to it that cost like $6 and works just the same.

Guys with the SPAL controller and HHR fan...what size fuse did you use for the power feed to the SPAL?
