I'd say that is a defective part! Why pay to have them machined when they should be good from the factory? I'd email those pics to JBA and ask to have a good set shipped out prontissimo.

I know the urge to get the project done is strong, but you're inviting problems of your own by trying to fix someone elses! The quality of that part is not acceptable to me, and JBA should send you a new one...preferably with expedited shipping.

Well I gotta wait 3 hours before the retailer opens( pacific time) I'm going to give them a call and see what's up. More than likely I will have to deal with JBA directly. They did specify a 1 year warranty from the manudacturer.

Hi my name is Ignorance and I just stopped in from Idiotsville....what are we looking at on these headers that is soo obviously wrong with them to everyone else? The only thing I can guess is the slight discoloration that would almost seem like premature oxidation.

Lol no prob. The exhaust openings on the headers( the 4 holes on each header) are supposed to be even with each other.

If you look at the picture, at the far left end of the header you see the opening come in contact with the desk. Same thing with the opening all the way to the right. Now if you look at the 2 holes in the center then you can see the light from the light behind it so you can tell they are not even.

Usually a small enough gap is leveled once the gaskets go on, but not on a gap this wide.
