My seal is leaking too. Has been since I bought it. I noticed it and the dealership took pictures and wrote a service contract. If it gets worse or causes failure or fails itself they will replace it no questions asked for free I love my dealer..

My pinion seal has been leaking for 30,000 miles. I just check the oil level and degrease it now and then. Someday I'll have it fixed, but a little oil can look like a much bigger mess than it is.

Look around any truck a few years old...most of them have oil spots at various locations on the pumpkin.

technically, wouldn't you need a new pinion crush washer to properly retorque the pinion and re-establish propper lash settings?
