Default Vibration Solved

Well, I knew it was a wheel bearing or a u-joint, but nothing was loose....at least the way I was checking things....shout out to Ueland for another save...I now know how to check for a bad u-joint the correct way and actually find it...if you notice the bottom joint, no bearings, no grease....thanks Michael! Drives like a new truck. Took me about 2 hours start to finish to swap the u-joint.

Nice find! Seal goes bad... oil drains out.... bearings get hot and melt away, or fall out.

they way I was checking it, I had it on the ground and was using a prybar trying to pry the joint one way or another to see if it had any play. None, solid as a rock. Well, of course, it's in gear and parking brake is on, etc. of course it's going to be solid...Ueland suggested I jack the truck up, put it in neutral and then see if there is any play...waalaa....loose u-joint...

this d@mn vibration has been driving me batty for over a month.....funny thing is, I took it to Merchants Tire and Auto and they could not find anything...wanted to replace the CV axle that I had just replaced because they said it was a rebuilt one (even though it was brand new), I said ok and if that does not fix the problem? they told me, well we'll keep looking...after I paid them $325 for a new CV axle. I told them thanks but no thanks, I'll figure it out myself...

an hour of it was removing the d@mn bolts holding the flange onto the pinion. Some idiot at Dodge thought it best to put non service removable lock tight on those bolts...talk about a biotch to remove!

Glad it cost you $20 rather than $325. Most people would have driven it until the cap was gone. I recomend you grease all the suspension, steering, and drive train parts at every oil change.
