Default What is this part?

I'm hoping I can insert a picture in here, if not I'm sorta screwed. My home-grown local mechanic says the popping, "square peg in a round hole" sound I'm hearing is coming from what he says is the sway bar. I've looked at Advance auto parts and other places on the net and what they have as a sway bar is NOT the part that is broken. I can see it's broken and I know which part it is, I just don't know WHAT it is. So, I found this site and looked for a diagram. IF I'm looking at the right part what is broken is the stabilizer bar. I've looked through the forum for another picture or info and only found one thread so here I am!

If it is the stabilizer bar I have a question, can I just replace the bushings/rubber parts or do I have to replace the whole thing? I want to make sure I get the right thing before I order it because A. the whole bar is not cheap and B. This is my only vehicle, I need the right part not weeks of sending it back and forth. Any help would be appreciated and I'm glad I found this site! It's helped out so far!

I just put the link in, maybe that will work? I hope so, I really need to fix this!

Sway bar end links is what you are looking for. Replace it with one from rock auto. Much larger and decent price.

MOOG Part # K750263
or
DEEZA Part # DDL637

Thanks Eimer, I had found that at one point this morning but can't find it now! It looked kind of like what I was looking for. Thanks for the help!

Should I replace them both at the same time? It's only the passenger side that seems to be chewed away on that bottom part. I'm thinking both will have to be replaced though.

Like I said I've had that truck for about 6 months now and not had a single problem with it. Though the dealership did tell me that a power steering seal was leaking and wouldn't pass it for inspection and that my brakes were bad. I had another mechanic look at it then and he said they were fine and the seal was fine. Sometimes you have to wonder about the dealerships.

But I love that thing so far. It doesn't have 4 wheel drive and it pulled me up some serious mountains that were covered in snow and ice last winter. I give it a thumbs up!
