i think where they went wrong today was putting the top in first. they never got to the point of trying to get the ball joints back into the spindle.

 

I started with the bottom control arm and then forced the top into the pocket, but mine was a inside the coil version.

 

I'll give it a go this weekend. I at least know I will be able to get the bottom bolt out. and I will make a "how-to".

 

I am pretty sure i put the bottom in first.

 

Well I finally got mine installed. I had to adjust the camber bolts to get both the top and bottom of the strut assembly bolted in. Then I borrowed a length of chain with hooks on the end. I hooked one end to the floor jack then ran it up over the spring perch andback down to the jack again. Now when I jacked the lower control arm up it wouldn't just lift the truck...it would collapse the strut enough that I could get the upper ball joint reconnected. Once i got the process figured out it went really smooth. Sorry I didn't get any pictures but if you have any questions on how I did it just ask and I will try to help.
