Exclamation Dakota 2010 4wd 2" lift kit

Hi everyone,

Im new in the forum but I have read some postsabout this problem of lifting the dakotas.

I need to lift 2" in the front for 32" tires, and replace the OE shocks by a firm ones. I found Bilstein and Rancho models that I looks very well and I found forums showing them installed on RAMs.

How could be posible that Bilstein 5100 ride height adjustable and Rancho Quicklift shocks are not manufactered for our Dakotas??

Does anyone know how diferent are the RAM 1500 OE strut and the dakota strut?? Bilsteins and Rancho exist for RAMs.

In case that I finally cant lift with Bilsteins or Ranchos, do this shocks exists just to replace the original strut?? this could be a 2nd option, replace the original strut with a better shock and use a spacer to level the truck....

I think this is a problem that must be taken by all of us who wants to level our trucks and explain it to a manufacturer... simple as that.

well, I´ll apreciatte a lot your help.
thanks

Welcome to DF. Ok, question 1: If you want to lift the front you can purchase a strut spacer. I think Daystar makes a 2" kit. Since you are replacing the struts, the stiffest strut you can buy are ranchos.
Question 2: The ram struts are different, from what I can tell. You are not going to be able to level or lift the front with just struts alone. There are no self leveling struts/springs available.
Your only option is a strut spacer as you mentioned. Hope this helps

Rancho or Monroe struts. Max. 2.5" spacer with 4x4. Thats about your only choices.

Even 2.5" is questionable for me Don't get me wrong, after seeing a members truck with it on there...I wanted it. I know a select few have done it, but I'm still wondering how it effects longevity of the critical components.

I agree, 2.5" is pushing it. I'm going with 2". But there are a couple with 2.5" who don't have issues...yet......
