Default Thermometer Sensor

I did a search and came up empty. Does anyone know where the sensor for the thermometer is, and can it be calibrated. I.m not talking thermostat, but thermometer. Mine is usually close, but sometimes on a 70 degree day, after stopping for a stoplight, it shoots up to 85. Somethings not right.

Are you referring to the temperature sending unit for the overhead console? If so its mounted behind the grill, lift the hood and its on the drivers side.

111 has been the hottest day this year, that was about a month ago. One of the benefits of living on the border with Mexico.

I've wondered what that was. I have one -- even though I do not have the overhead console. Any idea what function it performs, given that intake air temperature is measured separately/elsewhere?
