i checked the oil like 5 days ago it was fine. just noticed bad oil pressure today. no visible oil leaks or burn smell like before. guys in the 2g section say it might have to do with the pcv valve?

My sons zx2 just started leaking fresh oil like all of the sudden...turns out the gasket on the new oil filter was crimped on one side somehow...dont freak out...check the basics first....

I agree with Eric and I hate PCV valves on the 4.7L, lol. I break them all the time.

changed the oil this morning, it was dark but still in good shape. not anywhere near 6qts drained though. i went to my buddies shop and got it on the lift and we both inspected everything. no leaks visible at all!

could oil have just broken down and burned?
or am i burning oil constantly now?

oil level and pressure is back to normal after 10m of driving.

who filled your oil last? If it was done only when you put the new engine in, if it was not checked once it ran for a while and got into all the engine. All engines burn some oil. So if it was low to begin with, then burned some you get the point.

after i swapped motors i changed the oil at the 1000k mile mark. i changed and filled it myself like the day before i left on my trip. it was acting fine untill the last day of the trip. theres no way its normal to burn that much oil.
