Hi All, HELP PLEASE ! I just got done changing my spark plugs on my 2005 Dakota with little problems except when placing one plug towards the spark plug hole it came loose from the socket and fell into the opening next to the spark plug hole. I can't even see the plug to get it out. Will this cause damage to my engine or is it just sitting on top of the engine block? I tried to reach in the hole with my grabber but I can't see it or feel the plug.

Welcome to DF. Unfortunately I'm not quite sure what opening you dropped it in (don't have the truck in front of me to look at right now), can you elaborate? (If you can mark it on a picture that would be even better)

Run to the parts store and get a telescoping magnet, it should grab it.

Just a guess that hes talking about it being between the valve cover and intake manifold...

I got it...
Thanks to all of you. I went to the parts store and picked up a bendable magnet which also lights up and after 1 1/2 hrs was able to locate the runaway spark plug and get it out. Also thanks for the welcomes to DF. Great advice by all. Hope I can assist one of you in the future.

I have an old plug wire that i use to start my plugs threading, so much easier, and I can relate to dropping a plug too
