Unhappy Gotta get the truck fixed.

I was driving home last night and after about five minutes of driving, the truck starts shaking horribly and speed drops from 60 to 35 mph with the cruise set. I pull over to the side of the road and smoke is rolling out of my rear tire. The drum brake on my driver's side seized up, so I drove home (5 miles) at 20 mph with the tire intermittently locking up and skidding. Boy was I nervous. (had a couple beers at the bar). Get it into my uncles body work /automotive shop a block from the house and look it over. I need: Brake Shoes, Drums, 1 Wheel bearing for drivers side and a carrier bearing. WTF... I guess I found that vibration I have been complaining about for awhile.

Damn that sucks. Replacing the bearing is not that hard of a job, just time consuming and a pain because you have to remove the axle shaft.

be sure to take pics of the job. I'm curious how the axle shaft actually comes out. I know you have to remove the diff cover and take off a c-clip, but is that it?

Glad to hear it's only a wheel bearing. When that happened to me my stock OEM LSD had seized up, lol.
