Highway: Sh!tty
City: Sh!ttier

05 Dakota SLT 4.7l 4x4

I average 16.5 per tank, mostly city with probably about 20% at highway speeds. On the interstate I do 75+ so the mileage sucks.

I average about 16.7-17.2 depending on temps outside and how heavy my foot is. I drive 25 miles to and from work, mostly highway.

Default Not impressed either...

Mileage sucks....

I just got back from a Atlanta-Cumberland Island-Atlanta trip this weekend. 2011 QC, 4.7, 2WD, 18" wheels, 3.92 gear. I kept it at 65 or under the whole trip, drafted 18 wheelers, tires pumped to 38psi, etc... Barely broke 20.5mpg. Rest of the time it gets about 17mpg with 80% highway.

I could have easily scored 22-24mpg highway in my 2000 4.7 or the 2003 4.7 I had before using the same tricks.

im with you brother... when i was home when i first got the truck the best i got was 18 maybe 19 highway. in town and to and from base was about 13 -15. i lifted mine went from 31 inch tires to 33's and also cut my exhaust off leaving only the one resonator till i can get a real exhaust and its been worse ever since. i even took a trip up to PA from FL and the best i got on HWy maybe was 17 or 18.... damn that sux! used to get 300 on a tank of gas now its about 245 if im lucky. dont like to run it too low tho due to it taking about 20 mins to fill all the way because of the vapor lock or what ever it is.

Yea, my '02 was more efficient and quicker with the same engine and rearend. These Gen IIIs are just too damn heavy.
I get 16 city, 19 highway, always with a lead foot (second & third gear scratches daily). My best mileage is in Winter, not that we really have one here. The AC compressor on every vehicle I've owned (dozens) loweres my mileage at least 10%.

3.7 Auto 4x4; After market injectors, free flow cats, CAI and a couple other things. About 13-13.5 city (265/75/16 tires) and about 19.5-20 on the highway. I drive almost a split combo of city and highway.

yeah there is something seriously wrong with my gas tank... i have to hold the handle of the dispenser nozzle about a qtr of the way that you normally would or it will either shut off or spit the fuel back at me. i have a tsb that i got from here that i need to read over. this all happened after i high centered the truck on some sand and underwater before i went with the lift and bigger tires.
