Default 07 3.7 Timing belt replacement

Just wondering if there is a write up somewhere? Any input will be appreciated. How hard, what tools, time, etc.... Thanks. (I already searched the forum, did not find any threads in 3rd gen dakota).

So there is no concern on replacing the chains. Also, even if they needed to be replaced, this sounds like a major major job.

You have two timing chains and two timing sprockets as the 3.7L is a SOHC engine. I've heard of them stretching and jumping teeth but we are talking 150k miles plus.

can I ask why you think your timing chains (chains, not belts) would need to be replaced?

The chain is good for 100k+ what wears out are the plastic guides and tensoner shoes.

Well I've own cars with timing belts and I know in the past I have replaced the belts at 100k. I'm coming up on 100k on my truck and want my truck to last as long as possible. If there is not a requirement to replace the chain, then i'm not too worried. I know on japanese cars ive owned, its a must to replace the timing belt by 100k.
