I have the Fumoto valve mentioned in the thread, waiting for the next oil change to install it. I've given some thought to a remote filter mount, but we'll see how the next change goes using a big ziploc bag on the filter.
Zip lock bag is the best way for the filter, IMO. While the cross member sucks, I used to mess around with the cut off milk jug to try and avoid oil from getting on the bar, but its just easier to pull the plug and let it go. I just got an oversized drain pan and I just let the oil fall now. Its just oil ..... rust prevention
X2 I let the oil flow over the cross member. When its done I wipe it with a rag.
i really dont care about oil going all over the crossmember, i do however care about oil leaking all over my driveway looking all ghetto.
just how everything is set up for the change makes no sense, it took me an hour...my old sentra SpecV which was very low to the ground i could do in 10 minutes on the ground with no mess.
Why does an oil change in the Dak take an hour? I do it in less than 15 minutes on a hoist, it would be less than 20 if I had to do it on the ground, using a jack and jack stands.
