Well, how it used to work in my truck.

1. Nobody in the seat, no lights at all are illuminated.
2. Light bag or weight, lights above the radio bezel only would illuminate.
3. Person in the seat, no lights at all are illuminated.

That's how it's supposed to work.

This is how it works now.

1. Nobody in the seat, lights above radio bezel and red airbag light in the speedo are illuminated.
2. Light bag or weight, no lights at all are illuminated.
3. Person in the seat, no lights at all are illuminated.

It seems as if the sensors are reading a slight weight in the seat when it's empty, but the red light in the speedo wouldn't usually light up when that happened before.

 

sounds like a calibration issue. off to the stealership for you!

 

Well, there is a sticker on the floor under the passenger seat. It says:


I guess they aren't kidding! Let's see how my warranty works...

Ok, I finally dealt with the airbag light, I made a trip to the dealer. One hundred dollars later and the light is now out.
I don't know how some of you guys got lucky when you remove your seats and don't have the same problem.
I though maybe I damaged a sensor somehow when I drilled out the studs on the passenger seat. But I guess not, no parts were needed.

It's a good thing I love the new console!

 

I really want to put one of those full consoles in my truck but mine is a stick... I haven't been able to find one that is fit for a stick.

 

my truck is the 6 speed manual. and i have the full center console in my truck. only thing i dont like about it is. the cup holders are pretty much useless with any decent size drink. depending on what gear you are in. lol

Yes pics would be nice :-) I really didn't think Dodge made a full center console for the 6-speed. Unless it's the fold down armrest type?

 

no its the full center console. no seat. i will have to snap a couple pics when i get a chance. had to move out of my house temporarily due to water damage which created mold. so my truck is trashed from all the moving and what not. ill clean her up after work and snap a couple of pics of the center console for ya guys.

The pics will be helpful because I would like to see what it looks like but I still don't think i'll be able to find one. It's been over a year since I looked into this but I vaguely remember calling the stealership and them wanting over $1000 for a console. The junkyards that I checked didn't have any third gens with a console. I'll check with the junkyards again sometime but this is kind of a busy time of year for me so I probably won't have time for a while
