Default No muffler or resonator... how LOUD?

I was thinking of deleting both resonators and the muffler and doing a side exit all in 2.5" pipe.
How loud will this really be?

If anything, I would put in a simple straight-through muffler.
Sound clips would be the best, but for volume and noise, I would just need someone's advice.
I don't mind loud. I just don't wanna wake the neighborhood when I leave for work at 4:30 AM.

Honestly not as loud as you might think because of the cats. I ran mine without anything when I was installing my exhaust. Had to make a run to advance auto after I cut everything off because I needed an extension piece to make it fit. It is loud but I think the drone would be the worst part.

a buddy of mine has a true dual strait exhaust on his 04 4.7, and it sounds awesome. It is a little droany, but when ya get on it, its great. It possibly is a little too loud when goin down a neighborhood in the middle of the night though.

Yeah I'm pretty sure you would wake the neighbors with nothing but straight pipe, but it sounds GREAT when you get on it. I have the cherry bomb glass pack and it's got a nice roar when you get on it but at idle it's got a nice low rumble.

straight pipes out the side are not quite as raspy as straight pipes out the back but I would still say throw a muffler on there. the original 40 series flowmaster sounds very good and is their loudest muffler they make. I have and 80 series on my 3rd gen camaro and it is beautiful, the 80 series is the same exact thing as a 40 series but for camaros and firebirds because they are special =]

i have no cats to a cherrybomb and it is loud, but not as loud as if there was no muffler, i also have a 5.2, either way it will sound nice, only thing i could see goin wrong with the straight pipes through is it might sound like an exhaust leak, a nice muffler will make it sound like it was ment to be that way

Travis truck with open headers was stupid loud, lol. He even got in trouble going through the base gate because it was just too loud. I think a good resonator/muffler swap to a performance muffler is the way to go.

My 3.7L with a straight pipe was pretty damn loud when I got on it. Unfortunately the cop thought so too...
