Default Fabbin up SS Brake Lines

I am having a friend make some Stainless Steel brake lines for my truck.

I have been working on researching using upgraded ram brake calipers (4 piston) and it is not looking so good at the moment.

The stock 2005 ram uses the same caliper, but it appears that the adapter bracket is different. Will know more this week when I dig into a friends truck. Simple modification to the bracket may be all that is needed.

I do know that the brake lines on the ram lay out differently than the Dakota.

The one nice thing is that the Dakota only has 2 different brake lines. Front two are the same, and rear three are the same. The ram has front two the same, rear three different.

So I come to the forum to ask If anyone would be interested in a price for these. If not I will not bother asking for a price.

I will know that stock length works with 2" lift front and rear, but will probably give them a little extra.

For those of you that do not know these will be a replacement for the rubber flex lines. Over time the rubber begins to stretch out like a balloon used over and over and gives you a squishy pedal feeling.

Thumbs up

So we can't just buy SS lines? I hadn't looked into this yet.

If custom is the only way to get SS lines, count me in.

I've got a 4x2 that is at stock height, far as I know.

Currently the only lifting I plan to do is to raise the front to make the truck level.

I am not saying someone does not already have something that will work, but from my research I have found nothing.

The ram kit is close, but not close enough to make it work.

These would be in a way custom, but stock. No modifications needed, direct replacement.

I found these, forgive me if I am being ignorant , I don't know much about brakes. Maybe the Ram ones you are talking about are more super-duper than these?

AutoAnything

AndysAutoSport GoodRidges(looks to be same as AutoAnything's)

AndysAutoSport Wilwoods

AutoAnything talks about with lifts, but Andy's doesn't?

Those are just -3 lines with straight hose ends. Unless you purchase adaptors (caliper to -3, and hardline female to -3) they will not be useful.

Just so you guys know, Airdraulics (Hose Connection) sponsors me. If I can get the specifics on the lines, I can have them pre-made and shipped anywhere. To the original poster, do you have the lengths, thread pitches, etc. all documented? If so, give me a heads up. I personally know the owner at Hose Connection ( I built his daughters race car).

There is a company called Goodridge G-stop that makes them for our trucks. Last time I looked they were around $100 for the set.

Kinda off subject, but do you have factory rear disc?
