Default cancer...

ive got a bit of a problem. this past weekend i started looking around under my truck and have found tons and tons of rust. ive even found that the lower radiator support is totally rotted off the frame. now my truck is always garage kept, doesnt really see alot of snow or rain. the whole frame all the way down has rust, the oil pan looks like it was left in a salt bath, the whole upper front part of the frame is rusted. now i know some people have had problems with rust on here. anyone have it like this? i mean like even my skid plates are rusting. i called the dealer today they said they would have to look at it. my truck is out of warranty but its only got 36k miles. im going to give it a shot and drop it off see if Chrysler will do something about it. it doesnt make much sense to how im rusting out being kept in a garage. pretty P*ssed about this. what do you all think? i bought some rust stopper but if Chrysler will cover it im not going to do it til after i get the yes or no. i can tell you one thing ive never own a dodge again after this bologna!

Where do you live again? I know back home in Maine everything rusts in 4-5 years it seems whether it's garage kept or not. If they use any kind of salt/melt mix where you are it eats away at things outside or in the garage unless you wash off the undercarriage every time you pull into the garage.

I've got a 1951 dodge b3b truck that sat outside to rot for 30 years and the frame on that isn't even rusted. What gives....

I sold my Explorer when I got my Dakota, and that thing was all rust underneath!
Thanks to the NJ road crews.

I'm gonna spray underneath the Dak with some CRC SP-400 before winter rolls in, I've heard that can really help prevent rust.

flap disk/wire wheel on a grinder get it undercoated or do it yourself, touch up every spring. frequent car washs year round. works for me. also being in a heated garage after every drive is worse for it from what ive been reading.

Well not heated garage, gets washed once a week even when it's snows, other then ice putting a small dent in my door last year the truck is in perfect condition. The metal they must be using has to come from china because it plain out sucks. Is it possible for the dealer to at least warranty the radiator support where it has
Completely rusted off? Yes they def do not make them like they used to.

I know that my 09 Dak has a 5 yr. / 100k, rust / corrosion warranty. Well actually the warranty is for the coating that they spray the under body with (as far as I know). You could ask Dodge about that.
