Talking Drag racing

OK since having the truck tuned (SCT, Hemifever) The day in question, truck ran a 17.59@76.67, tuned with 93 octane 40min later, the truck ran 17.15@77.92 09/10/2011.
Since I started racing the truck, when it was stock, it only ran 18.99@73.77 06/26/2010. Now, with everything ive done so far, the truck ran 17.024@78.67 10/01/2011. This is 1.966 seconds faster than stock. I am pretty impressed with this, but I am not done yet. I am going to try the injector swap next. I would like to do a mod that would help me out with top end, as it seems to drop off at the end of the quarter. Will the injectors help this, or does anyone have any other suggestions? (No, I am not doing NOS!) (Would love to turbo, but thats a little $$$$)
3.7L, efan, colder plugs, 180 thermostat, CAI, custom exhaust, 27" drag tires, tuned.

Why not NOS? Is the most horsepower u can get for ur money. And it can be done safely.

What else is going to give u 80hp for under 500?

There has been a lot of discussion on power adders for the 3.7L. A few of the Jeep guys found out that our 3.7Ls don't have strong rotating assemblies. Wrist pin failures was the first sight of spilled blood. Our pistons are not up to the increased cylinder pressure either. Nitrous would create issues, as well as any other method of forced induction. Before verifying the "Jeep guys" validity, you might want to consider forged pistons, tool steel wrist pins, and stronger rods. I have no clue if our crank is up to the challenge.

Yea, I think I have reduced weight as far as I will go with my daily driver. No tailgate, no spare, no reese hitch. With the mods I have done, I am where if the truck looses more weight, or picks up power, I will have traction issues.

honestly, gearing will make the biggest differences IMO. I am going out on a limb here, are you running 3.55's? If so, going to a 4.10 will make a gigantic difference. Make the most of the power your making...

after that, a custom Cam grind or head work is probably where I would go next, since you dont want a snail.

What makes you think that you need bigger injectors? are you leaning way out at WOT?

No, Just one of the other members, Backwoods18, with a 3.7L had said they gave the truck a little more HP. I am talking about the svt #39 cobra injectors, 4.6L I believe.

I am not sure about HP but they "seem" to help out in the lower end. I feel a little more "pep" when I step on the gas vs. stock injectors

This could be because the spray pattern is more efficiant and you're seeing better atomization.
