Default Nissan Frontier

Anyone like the Nissan Frontier for a Dak replacement since that midsize platform is gone. You get one hell of allot of great stuff on a loaded pro series Frontier. The engine is a respectable 261hp and 280 lbs of pull. Not bad for a six banger but the MPG sucks at a top out of only 19 mpg. Several other little things are not available that would be nice like power seats but still a very nice truck for the money. I’m trying to stay away from full size but it is becoming hard to do. The Taco Tacoma is expensive and not very desirable in many ways. I may just have to go to an F-150 if the Frontier test drive is disappointing. After the Dak I will not buy another Dodge. Anyone have pro/cons on the Frontier?

I had two frontiers (04 crew cab 4x4 & 07 extended cab 4x2). The 04 was way underpowered, the 07 was a great truck. Lots of power but too small. Traded it for the dak. Out of all that is left, I like the nissans best. You can also get it in Suzuki blend (Equator). The crew cabs are still smallish though.

I like the Titan I bought. Only Nissan I have ever owned but it seems of pretty good quality. The locals love the Frontier and Toyota Tacoma. This island is covered with them. 60,000 people live on this island, so I would bet there are 15,000 Frontiers and 25,000 Tacomas. 4x4 A/C Frontiers are definately the most popular Nissan on this island and they hold up well.

They are nice trucks but seem cartoonish. The cab is too large for the chassis.

That commercial made me lol the first time I saw it. I'd love to know how shooting it actually went. I can only imagine how many times they got stuck.

Did you guys see the plane commercial? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-0S2U3qprI I think the market is going south for all the mid-sized trucks... its going to be either full size or nothing...

I test drove a 4x4 Frontier in '01 before I bought my first Dakota. It was the SC'ed V6 version and, even at that, it could barely get out of it's own way. Plus the bed is so small the quad wouldn't even fit without hoisting it over the wheel wells. Then I test drove an '01 CC 4x4 Dakota with the 4.7 and was hooked. When I told the salesman at Nissan about it he just said "enjoy your Dakota". That was 4 Dakotas ago...

The Frontiers may have more power/torque now than 10 years ago but I just can imagine being satisfied after driving Dakotas with a 4.7 for a decade. JMO

My buddy just picked up a 11' Frontier. He raved about how awesome it is. I would imagine that the best midsized pick up is the Taco. Yes they are expensive, but they also hold their value really well. For midsized trucks, obviously Dodge is out of the picture now. However, I wouldn't slay "Dodge" as a whole. The Ram is one hell of truck.
