Default Place to buy 4.10s

I'm looking to upgrade to 4.10s, right now I have 3.55s, Anyone recommend a place online or somewhere near Austin tx? I have a 2006 3.7L with auto but I have a hard time towing a jetski with all the hills around here, now I have an 18' boat so Im thinking its probably a good idea to upgrade to 4.10s and get a tranny cooler. Might think about doing it myself but I could just find a shop close by.

With a 3.7L, you probably have an 8.25" ring gear. Try this link

There are several choices.

I HEARD from several ram owners with the 3.7 V6 that the gearing of choice is 4.56. You should go over to the third gen ram section and look around.

It would be a shame if the jump to 4.10 wasn't that effective.

I'll add that I thought about doing this several times throughout owning my Dakota, since it is a 3.7L.

I want to ensure that Dodge can keep the speedometer and odometer in check however, and I am not sure they can do it with gears that they do not offer.....as I would imagine there ECU programmer is limited. I know it is with tire sizes...

4.10's or 4.56's will both be good choices. Use a quality gear manufacturer and spend the money on a differential rebuild kit. it will pay its self back in the long run. less chance for humming and whining.

I believe that the superchips programmer can adjust the gear ratio for speedo correction. It also has torque management tuning for firmer shifts and increased line pressure. The power it can add will also help with the towing.

cool thanks for the link, yeah I got the 8.25", from what I read on here, 4.10s should do the trick for what I want, I also do a fair amount of highway driving to work everyday. I wish I could get the programmer especially for the shift points but they dont offer one for 2006 model.

4:56's really wake the 3.7L up, but so does the loud exhaust at 70. I bought the truck with 4:56's in it so I can't vouch for stock. 4:10's should be exactly what you are looking for by what you described.
