If you have an air compressor just blow on the filter from the inside out

I have the recharge service kit from k&n. Has the cleaner and oil. Costs like $13 from amazon.

Your local Napa store will have it as well for a similar price. It has all the instructions on how to clean and oil your filter.
Always rinse the filter from the inside out and don't use too much water pressure.

And don't beat it off anything... you'll mess the mesh up... a dry brush does the trick for anything stuck to the exterior.

Hey guys.. I'm dealing with K&N right now on a filter warranty issue, and this is what they asked me..

1) Have I used products other than k&n to clean the filter
2) How long between cleanings

From talking to them, as long as you use their products, in reasonable cleaning cycles, following their directions, they'll stand behind their product (and they are in my case!) I understand why, that if you use another product to maintain their filter, they do not have control over their product.

Anyhow, ya... just a little to think about.

use the recharge kit. comes with everything needed. You spray this cleaning solution on it an it will break away most of the dirt and then rinse it with a hose at a light stream after the cleaning solution soaks in for 5-10 mins spray and let air dry. after that you use the air filter oil and it will turn your filter back to that red color when you first bought it.

Just cleaned it. YUCK! Fishy smell. First time really cleaning it except to blow out dirt a couple times.

Lots and lots of dirt. Now for full dry before oil.

but hey, I can see through it now!
