Thanks for clearing that up guys. Since I don't plan to race my truck I'll probably just stick to the SC for trans tuning since that is what's really bothering me the most. Also a gear change from 3.55 to 3.92 to help with towing and maybe a 50 shot of juice for those times where you just need a bit more and I'll be happy.
4.7 liters really isn't all that small of a v8... look at Italian sports cars. their displacement is small compared to US built motors.
It is when you think they used to put a larger displacement engine in a lighter truck. Seems it was a 5.9 but I may be wrong. Was it just a 5.2? Still, 2nd Gen larger engine, lighter truck. 3rd gen. Smaller engine - heavier truck.

Hence the fact the Dakota is done. They were making it more expensive and less capable while the Ram continued to evolve for not much more money. Makes you wonder why they do these things.
