As for chips most us us are using superchips or SC tuners. Intake I have a homemade one and I think it works just as good as a store bought one.

Superchips 3865 and Airaid CAI, not sure exactly how much power it added, but my truck feels great with them.

Welcome to DF, the source for all your Dakota questions.

Superchips and K&N FIPK, the air filter setup adds more noise then anything but it sounds cool. If I did it again I would do 1. superchips 2. gears

welcome to the forum! we got ALL the answers here...lol...I agree with what has been stated....superchips 3865 and a decent CAI. though if you plan on modding the engine (H.O. cams, headers, duals, etc) your better off with a SCT tuner which allows more aggressive tunes and requires a custom tune be written for your truck where the superships has tunes already installed. Do a little searching around on this forum, there are plenty of threads discussing these topics. Post up some pics of your truck!

Other things to mention, E-fan conversion, and never fear the gear swap.
