Default 08+ Exhaust size

I have tried searching, but didn't find a specific answer.

I want to order a borla muffler to replace the factory one on my '11 Dakota, but I read (somewhere) that the exhaust pipe size was bigger than 2.5" but I could not find a concrete number.

Does any one know?

Thanks.

option1 remove big front muffler and leave juste rear resonator...or go true dual 2.5 in out muffler and cut off the Y pipe.

I put on a Magnaflow single in/single out, 2.5 inches on both end.

I don't think the exhaust size has changed since 2005, or earlier.

08+ has 2.75" exhaust, it's just a hair larger then 2.5"

I installed a 2.5" Borla Muffler (the straight thru design) on mine (kept the resonators) it was just barely louder then stock, while cruising you couldn't tell any difference.

Removed the larger resonator and it gave it a deep rumble and is somewhat loud when your on it. I like it a lot.

You could use 3" as well, any good muffler shop can stretch a pipe section to make it fit. Either way it will take some custom work, don't plan on doing it yourself. My shop only charged $40 for a muffler swap.
