Default Wanted: Tailgate net for hauling studs

I need to haul a bunch of studs for a basement remodel. However, I have a quad cab, so I have a short bed.

Does someone make a net that I can use to keep the studs from sliding out the back end of the bed?

i've hauled up to 10' long boards using just bungee cords holding everything down on top of the tailgate. over 10' is dangerous since you have more out of the bed than in it. but lowes is literally 1 mile from my house. it sux, our beds are pretty much useless when it comes to hauling building materials

Are we talking just 7 footers?

Do you still have the shell on your truck? get an old blanket and run some straps through your shell window and drivers door openings. careful not to damage the seals and pad anything with wash rags. I've moved 12 footers and a 10' counter top that way.

Why do you need a net? There are dozen ways to hold them down.

I just thought that a net would help hold in various lengths. The studs would be 92 5/8", but there would also be 8' green treated 2x4's. Bungies would work too.

I would just ratchet strap them, do the quad cabs not have tie downs in the front and back of the bed?

The pitch pressure will keep them in place no problem. Just take it slow.

Yep, that's what I used to do. 4 straps, two crossing from front to rear, one behind the load across the back, & one on top across the back. Red flag stapeled to back.

They also make these things but not worth it for one small job: http://www.harborfreight.com/truck-b...der-45830.html

I have that exact one from harbor freight. Best accessory I ever bought.

FYI I looked into nets myself a while back but found none worthy of holding much beyond groceries.
