Default 2005 dakota leveling kit problem

I was attempting to install the tuff country kit i received and as i followed the simple directions in taking off the 3 parts, the wheel assembly still wouldnt drop far enough to install the 2inch spacer. I was told dodges are a pain to put the kits on as you may have to take off the cv or the whole strut? if someone has step by step pics of doing this on a dakota or has done it please help me out! a little help would be greatly appreciated

I removed the axle shaft to install mine. You get more droop. did you also remove the sway bar end links?

here is the link to my install with some pictures, might not have what you are looking for though. yes, the axle shaft is what runs the 4x4. remove the big nut in the center of the brake rotor. I removed it on the passenger side because I had just replaced the axle shaft and the nut was easy to remove. On the drivers side I did not because the nut was seized, but I was still able to get it in there,, just took a little more maneuvering.

Have a look here. This isn't your leveling kit, but the installation is about the same & this instruction set has most of the pictures you should need.

Yes, I removed the caliper and rotor. Removed the caliper because the brake line will keep the lower control arm from dropping very far......until it breaks.... Removed the rotor because once you remove the caliper, the rotor will fall off anyway. Removing the axle shaft from the hub allows the control arm to drop even more for extra clearance.

nothing major. if your 4x4, dont go more than 2". If you are into hardcore offroading it will cause axle shaft problems (and other problems), but I mine is a road queen so I dont get a lot of flex.
