clunking sound
hey all, a few weeks ago I broke a tie rod end some how and replaced both tie rod ends. but it still drove ****ty. I lifted it back up and found my rack and pinion has a slow leak on the drivers side as well as a seal leak on my front shaft. both those are on order. now my truck clanks really loud and you can physically feel the truck moving. the sound seems to be coming front the front and possibly from the right side, having a hard time placing it exactly. anybody have any ideas on what it could be.
Is it a 4 wd? Maybe your front u joints? I'm just throwing crap on the wall to see what sticks. Good luck! I just re did my front end and have a seal leak on the front AND rear axle. So please post pics and as much detail about that front seal job. I'll be eternally grateful. :-)

to the OP, what do you mean you feel the truck physically move? like rolling sloppily or something? when does is clank exactly? i think balljoints or severe bearing issues, tierod ends, possibly control arm bushings, rear drum, u-joints, broken exhaust hanger, these could all cause a hefty clanking if broken in the right ways.
i love touchscreen keyboards and autocorrect.
