Well it's really good to know that you would never fight for your freedom but would prefer to ride on the backs of those, like myself, that did serve. I know that people like yourself aren't the majority in Canada but you make enough noise that outsiders seem to think that we're all the same.

oh snap. who opened pandora's box? Seriously though, it's not for everyone. I'm grateful for my freedom, and I have nothing but respect for those who made this way of life possible. I'm not afraid of dying to protect my family but I feel that to do it for the whole country I would just become a statistic that appears in the local papers for a day. I would rather have my family sitting next to me so I know they are safe, where I can have better chance of protecting them if something were to happen.

There's no doubt that there's a need for those who want to serve to protect our freedom, but I know there are those out there who won't but instead choose to serve to protect the public. There are varying degrees of civil service that are required on the home turf. Firefighters, police, paramedics, nurses, ect.. and even people like myself to some extent who serve to protect peoples identities... Even if you just simply have a job, you serve the country whether you like it or not. America and Canada alike. Credit where credit is due.

On a lighter note, if I did serve in the military.. the last thing I would want to do is dig Toronto out of 4 inches of snow...

Let's not get that way Alfons! He never said he disrepects you or those like yourself that go where ever they are sent, no questions asked.

I really wouldn't want someone to be called who wasn't totally committed!

I, for one, am glad I don't have to go, but that you do for me and mine! I don't always agree where the children on the hill send you, but I support your efforts and commitment on my behalf!

Thanks for your service.

Thanks northgator8, I normally don't shove my philosophy into other people's faces and do believe that like politics and religion, lifestyle should be kept to oneself - until one of them is challenged, then I believe, it's time to stand up and be counted. I also agree with FrenicX where he indicated that many contribute to their community/society as best they can and deserve credit for their contribution. This is the way it should be for all to have a harmonious social relationship, but you'll always find someone that wants to "make light" of what others do & generally stir the pot.

Thanks again, I've had my say.

I think i just made a big ball of snow growing sorry if i did i dont want to get kicked out due to this post.
I respect all of you that did serve your country but its a totally different story for us in canada...The quebec tried to separate from canada in 1985 for freedom but i was only 5 year old and now its kinda to late to fight alone for it. Quebec is paying more tax than all other province. Québécois are s2pid people. We manifest for a 1993 stanley cup, Metallica& GNR canceled show, Randy Cunnyworth behing unilingual and destroy our own town. But when governement rip us in anyways,''scandales des commandites'' raise: tax, driving liscences, plates new law 48 we let them do it whitout doing anything.

I would fight for my province for freedom but not for the contry's pocket $$$ and american conflict about $$$ and gas we have our own ''gas de schiste'' but we are toos2pid to extract it.

But anyways there is nothing i can do...my opinion is not important and will not change anything. But i would protect my family and dogs and die for them anytime!!! this post should be moved now! Nothing to do with my sand paddles experiment sorry again!

I am feeling bad right now how it turned out... i didnt want to be in a embarassing situation but i feel embarassed right now...but i like to know your opinion because we made our opinion from the media and i like to learn your way to think and may help us a little more to undertand...Like i said me i dont have to serve its on a volontary decision that people in the canada go and serves our country. my 2 cousins did but i may think different because i didnt had to. I feel bad right now that i dont find all the right word to express my self...really sorry for this again.

Don't worry about it man. Just be sure to post some videos of your truck doing donuts with sand paddles on. That will be EPIC! Thread is locked down
