Default magnaflow y versus flowmaster y

I just redo my exhaust from the manifolds back and decided not to reuse the magnaflow y-pipe. I instead used the flowmaster y collector and I got to say I am thoroughly impressed. I'm not a fan of fm mufflers but the y collector looks like they put a lot of engineering thought behind it. The flow from two to one is way smoother and the chamber is smaller and more direct than the mag. Also the size of the unit is way easier to manage and work with. Just thought I'd write something up because I couldn't find much opinions about either on the internet. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask. Mike

Thanks for the tip, which In/Out size did you use?

I need to redo mine because of a crappy previous repair on the drivers side downpipe.

2" to 2.5". I went down in size from the mag which was 2.25" to 2.5 to see if I got better response and spool up and I do w the smaller pipe diameter. There are probably better collectors out there but I got this from jegs for 34$.... Can't beat it I think.

I ran a true dual 2.5" and loved it.

Hammer put up some test numbers a while back and the Magnaflow actually showed increased flow, the Flowmaster showed more restricted.

Ah! Numbers never lie. I have the remote set up.. it feels like the boost kicks in earlier....just an opinion still waiting on installing the cams and gears and getting an actual synod tune tho
