Will this programmer help with the idling issue most of us have?

I wouldn't expect it to increase your MPGs at all. Even the SC 3865 that most of us have doesn't help at all.

Thanks! Ya the mpg gain would be the main reason for me to pick one up. I havent found anything that I needed to do that it couldnt handle with the power it has now. But I wouldnt turn down some extra power if it had a side affect of some extra mpg

alright guys, the numbers keep in mind, i have 20's on with 285/50/20 tires, and i can't go all the way to empty because i don't live close enough to fill up.

prior to hypertech 191 miles at 16.575 gallons = 11.5 mpgs
with hypertech and correct tires height 196 miles @ 13.933 gallons = 14 mpg

with the tuning the shifting definitely tightened up. one other thing i noticed, going down slight hills you do not gain speed you lose it. also the rpms go lower before down shifting

Thanks for the info! I like those numbers. I probably wont get that much of a gain seeing as mine is a manual but with an almost 3.5 gain for you I would guess id see 1.5+. Now got to just talk the wife into it. Thanks again

Default Hypertech 53001

I have one of the Hypertech 53001's listed for sale on Ebay. I've had it installed on my 2008 Dakota SLT 4.7 4X4 for the past year or so. It also has the power programmer upgrade installed. I decided to go with the Superchips 3865 for the transmission tunability. The Hypertech gave me a 1-2 mpg increase in fuel economy verified over SEVERAL fill ups. I used the 93 Octane tune once, (WOW) but not wow enough for the price of 93 octane. Here is the link if anyone is interested.
