In my opinion, get something that won't rust or has very limited rust tendencies. Stainless of various types is a good option.

I've used them in the past for headers. 5 years later they still weren't rusted. Reduced the heat in the engine bay. In turn longer rubber life. If you spend 1000 dollars on an exhaust, drop ship them and pay shipping one way.

its a flowmaster force 2 so its 16-gauge aluminized steel tubing, thats what i get back under the warranty, i think rhino liner would melt, and header paint might not be a bad idea

External coatings won't prevent corrosion of an exhaust system. One byproduct of combustion is hydrochloric acid. Exhausts rot from the inside out.
A coating like Jet Hot, applied to the inside of an exhaust will help considerably, but at considerable cost.

Your right, the real question would be how many times could you replace the exhaust for the cost of getting the jet hot done. They do coat inside and out if the exhaust is new. But I love there product.
