Default Mbrp!

So count me in as another happy customer! I ordered this last Weds after finding out my exhaust had far greater problems then just a hole where a hanger ripped out. I received a nice BOX in the mail yesterday! I got a new MBRP Dual Exhaust Kit in the T409 Stainless. I am partially installed right now, I ran into a snag that I have worked out, just now after talking with MBRP. Seems that my frame is slightly different than the 05/06s as far as how a hanger is able to mount. I'll explain later. I have just over an hr on install time, minus the pondering and internet searching for the issue I was having. Anyways, Ill be fully functional tonight after a quick 30 minutes of adjustments and tightening. I must say, this exhaust is amazing so far. The fit and finish is stellar. The sound coming out of the muffler, minus the tailpipes, is very aggressive and rumbly! Its a much cleaner, tuned sound than my Cherry Bomb Pro. I am not saying the Cherry Bomb is bad, because I would recommend that as well. Its just the sound of the MBRP is def well worth the price tag. Any of the videos online and on DF, DO NOT do these things justice at all. Once I am finished I will take some pictures of it and of the old exhaust. I'll take a video possibly, but like I said, hearing this in person is much more pleasing than online. So for now, DROOL over the box...

That is an amazing box... it's actually been proven that simple cardboard boxes just like that one have detrimental effects on our gas mileage. You are a lucky man!

And he got it from Autoanything. Best prices around for the MBRP systems.

Talking

Yes, I bought it from Autoanything.com, their price was unbeatable. I paid just over $400 shipped to the front door as you see it, which was one of the main reasons I went with the Duals and the T409 SS. I couldn't get a shop around here to build or install a cheap steel custom exhaust with me supplying a new muffler for under $360. I got this for a bit more and it has SS, a lifetime warranty, and AWESOMENESS. Its on, unfortunately it was late because I started finishing up late, which means no pictures yet... tonight, I promise! Anyways, I am impressed even more, the exhaust is louder than I expected. Saying its a full V8 sound, doesn't really explain it! At WOT you can actually hear the exhaust gases swirl through the muffler and out the back. I have noticed a bit more power, especially on the pickup speeds from a roll. Highway power is great too. There isn't any noticeable drone while drive. MBRP claims 5-10% HP and Torque increases depending on vehicle and setup. I would agree. I am curious what this thing is going to sound like after it burns in the muffler some.

The snag explanation...The snag I ran into was with the rear hanger mounts. MBRP has a it setup as the one main mounting bolt (3/8" x 4" long) going through the frame. Well, on my truck and now I see its on Bobby's truck too, there is not a full width hole in the frame. There is one hole on the exterior side of the frame, but not the entire width. I'll take some pictures of this too to help explain and to give more info to the interwebs, because there is nothing on the web that explains the difference. Well the first night when we hit that step, I wasted a good bit of time trying to figure out, how the hell they mounted the hanger with that huge bolt and my frame. Needless to say, its an ERROR and after talking with them they confirmed it could be different, which is kind of a NO ****... but they apologized and would make note of it. I am thinking its not right all together. Its a design error. I am going to bang on their wall alittle. If at all they need to offer both bolt options or atleast make it a note on the plans. So basically to fix this I bought 2 fully threaded (3/8" x 1 1/4") bolts, a few fender washers and used the other hardware to sandwich the frame to create this mount. Bobby's is the same way and I would bet anyone else that went with the duals has experienced this. Anyways its done and everything is solid. Most of all the WIFE be HAPPPAY!

Damn you stalkers...

Nick, I think you took the "other" box... you may not want to open it... just bring it back

Silence... yes they are half chrome, half the yellow plastic look.

By the way, if anyone of you have the Cool Duals and have experienced the mounting issue, go ahead and add a comment to my post, just to show them how many there are - https://www.facebook.com/pages/MBRP-...=wall&filter=1

I am going to email them as well...

Here's some pics, no video clip yet, damn battery died shortly after this... (Dont mind the dirty truck, it needs a bath, bad!)

What started it all... (the curve down in front of the rear tire)

Then I found this...

And what ultimately swung me to a new exhaust... (It was only hanging on by a thread as compared when I first found it)
