Default Areo turbine

Anyone install one of these mufflers on there truck? Looking at buying a new setup my dual magnaflow is shot and tired of keep fixing it. Some long lasting crap right there. So my plan is to roll the exhaust out in front of the rear tire in 3" using one of these areo turbine mufflers. My only thing is I may need a resonator because Im thinking it's going to be too loud. I just can't stand drone anymore. Any problems with running it infront of the rear tire, the guys who have it?

Id do a custom dual exhaust out of the roll pan. If I didn't already have an exhaust before I got my roll pan, it would've been a done deal.

Not sure how the Aero is, but in front of the wheel will be pretty un-muffled. The few bends that go over the axle actually muffle quite a bit. I know a guy with a 02 RT who has them like that and he loves it.

My old 83 blazer, 6.2 non-turbo diesel had dual into x-pipe and exited both sides in front of the tire, oh man it sounded MEAN. No one made diesel mufflers back then, so it was glasspacks installed backwards that was the trick. I love side exits like that

Yeah that sounds redic. Def would have to go resonator then muffler. The reason on ditching rear setup also is because I just put a curt trailer hitch back there to hopefully take some impact if someone decides they want to get a little too close to me. So I still have my original exhaust tip and want to put that massive thing coming infront of the tire.

Before the turbo I had an Aero Turbine on my truck and loved it. Best muffler you can buy IMO.

He also has true duals with 2 hi flow cats (I assume a stock setup has 3 cats?). So his is pretty aggressive. The XL series of Aero Turbines have a resonator built in.

If you do get a resonator, I wouldn't recommend throwing a stock one back on. Before I cut mine off, it sounded great, but there was a raspiness that kinda sounded like a exhaust leak. Couldn't hear it when accelerating, just at idle.

We just have 2 full cats, no precats or anything. They aren't too bad for flow either, but highflows are still much better.

I'm pretty sure I never had a resonator even at stock. When i had magnaflow put on I got the stock exhaust back and there was just the muffler. The muffler was huge but did what it had to do. I'll be going with the aftermarket one that aero makes. Time for a change!
