Default Does anyone know where to get front drive shaft?

for 05 dakota 4speed
Dealer has 130 on backorder. i guess mine is 24.25 in long and the one thats only available right now is longer then that?

I was told it will be faster to have someone make one for me, but im guessing thatll cost a lot.

I guess I will start with why are you replacing the front drive shaft? Besides bottoming out on the shaft and bending it, what possibly can go wrong with it?

OEM part # 52105981AC - DG6 = Transmission-4-Spd. Automatic, 42RLE
or
OEM part #52105982AC - DGQ = Transmission-5-Spd Automatic 5-45RFE
Rock Auto carries - A-1 CARDONE

Just google search the correct part # and start calling up places to see if they have it.

IDK lol. Ive just had 2 mechanics tell me my front drive shaft is bad and needs to be replaced. The last one just took it off for now until we can find a new one (my 4wd wouldnt work, i would engage it and it would make a NASTY noise, and apparently it was because my front drive shaft was bad)

if your cv joint(s) are bad, then yes you need a new shaft. I got mine from oreilys. @$70. It took a day for them to get it because it is not a normally store stocked item (go figure) but they had them in their warehouse.

I just had to replace my on my 07. I found a local shop that rebuilds drive shafts. They had one in stock. I can look up the place again if need be. I am sure they can ship from Denver. I paid $240.00 with my core, but I had it same day. The CV joint at the t-case goes bad and then they clankty-clank. I would suggest looking around for a re-man.

Ok now that everyone is on page with he is looking for a front DRIVE shaft, Why would you ever need to buy a new one?
I can see if it is rusted away, but its just a chunk of steel with u-joints.
