Default Tire wear

Was just looking at my tires, and noticed it looks like the passengers side tires are worn more than the drivers. Got a depth gauge, and yep is very noticeable although I didn't write down the measurements. Can do, if it'll help.

Since I don't have a fat woman riding shotgun, I don't know why this would happen. any ideas?

Tire pressure and alignment are the two things that I would check first.

i check and adjust the air press once a month. no abnormal wear patterns, or pulling to indicate alignment probs. I'm due for a rotation and balance. Will see what they tell me at the tire shop.

do you take a lot of left turns fast? Seriously, my drive to and from work, I'm making no less than 4 on and off ramps that curve to the left, so I'm loading up the right side quite a bit traveling at a high rate of speed. I rotate every 5k so I have not noticed uneven wear...but just a thought.....

Rotate often? All turns are not created equal, right turns almost always sharper, crown of the road forces uneven tire wear. Not rotating will cause these things. But, that being said. I had a ranger that had a loose bearing that didn't pull at all, but in 6500 miles that wheel alone have 3x the outer wear. wear can happen fast if things aren't up to spec.

that may be it. I've been rotating every 10-12k miles which I know is not enough. Turns/road crown may be a factor too. Thanks for the input.

Just wanted to update this, but took it to the shop - mech says alignment is out and causing the wear. So got alignment done, hope that takes care of it.

Well looks like you got the issue fixed.

I had the same issue but mine was from the one wheel peel and only a front to rear rotation. The fix,

Makes me kick myself in the butt for getting directional tires. I would have to have 2 of them dismounted to rotate like that darnit. At least I don't one wheel peel anymore. But every 6k lasts at just over a year for me, but that also means more chance for some dork to damage my wheels while mounting...
