Default In dash radio help......

Sorry if this has been asked before......

I have a 2006 Dakota Quad 4x4 and I have the in dash 6-disc CD changer. I am looking to move to an mp3 player but I have no aux output on my unit. i am considering just replacing the unit with an aftermarket in dash unit but I am not sure which one to go with.

-I would like it to have a cd (multiple would be great)
-I would like it to store music (mp3 or wma), loadable via usb or something
-Touch screen would be nice!
-I think they call it 2 din???? I don't want a skinny radio, I prefer it take up all the space the factory radio did.

Am I looking for too much? Has anyone installed a good in-dash unit. I have seen some with gps would be great too. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A Double Din radio will require modification of the Bezel and dash (Nothing to hard from what Ive seen)
You will also need a CANbus Adapter Harness, or you will need to run a power wire to the radio from a switched source. (I ran it from a switch 12v outlet)

how goes the search? i have a pioneer single din, with a 80 gig ipod sitting in the glove box. i think you should think of having an ipod so you can make playlists and this would eliminate the need to have a multiple cd holder. just a thought, im happy with mine. and for $300 on a deck, you could get a damn nice single din

Well if you wanted to go the cheap way, you could get an FM Modulator for your MP3 Player. You might be able to get a pop-out single din for around $300. Like Reject says you may want to get a CANbus adapter unless you like slicing wires.

Good Luck.
