Hitch is a simple part. It bolts onto your existing bumper support to make it a hitch. (Thats all the Tow Package is)

I had my truck pulled 300ft Backwards by the safty loops on my hitch, and at points it was literally dragged lol

If you remove your bumper you will see this. You wont see the 2" Receiver tube and Connectors.
It simple bolts onto where mine is in the picture, on the factory Tube support.

As for connectors get a T setup, so all you have to do is plug them in, no splicing.

You can also just buy a standalone aftermarket Hitch, Im not sure how they install.

I'd bet for not much money than the tow hooks you could install a front receiver hitch. I know the 3rd Gen Ram factory hooks are like $160 and I've seen Ram front receivers for as low as $109...

True tow hooks are expensive, But the receiver also lowers your ground clearance, and its more likely to get snagged on something.

hitch and wires from rock auto, tow hooks from the dealer.

I took my dakota from 4x4 car to truck in those simple steps.

It depends on the receiver, when looking to put one on my Jeep I found some inexpensive ones like Curt mounted pretty low, but some like the Warn sat up high enough not to adversely effect AOA...

Most ones I seen for ours seem to sit low.

That would be a detriment. Too bad I don't have a Dak at my disposal or I'd fab one up that would sit high enough...
