Using a relay IS the safer option. If you wire a switch from the headlights back to the dash, the high-current is carried through all of that wiring. By using a relay, the switch only carries a low current to turn on the relay, then the relay sends the high current over a short wire to the lights.

are you back from mexico yet??? its gonna be a switch on the dash to a relay to the hellas

is there a wiring harness prewired for foglights on an st that has no factory fog lights? or am i splicing?

Nope. Still diving. Did two dives today. Second dive was shallow, max of 38 ft., but we were down for 1:01, and still had 1,000 psi. Unfortunately if we continued, we would have gone under two massive cruise ships.
