Default NEW GUY! Needs Opinions

well hello everyone so stoked to see so many proud Dak owners out there so glad I found this forum after a few days of upgrade searching and feeling so lost.. read threw most of the threads, so helpful and now i got so many ideas its almost overwhelming, wish the pockets were deeper ha! So i just bought a 2007 Dakota 4.7 Magnum 4x4 been driving it for about a month and absolutely love it such a fun and fast little truck, my first new vehicle too couldn't be happier,

got my hands a K&N CAI and threw it in last night.. grin ear to ear all night that magnum sure sounds sweet!

SO I'm looking for some advice on some HIDs i got a guy in town selling BI Xenon Kits for 130$ but as i'm told they are very tricky to get working properly in dodges.. any input would be appreciated and I also plan on changing the headlight itself to something like the night shaded one or possibly the halo projector aand i'm sure that will factor in the HID conversion.. and any input on a good headlight for my truck..

heres my girl just glowing with potential

get a halogen high/xenon low kit, they're simpler and less of a headache IMO. You can try a kit from hidextra.com but yeah it is a pain in the ***. In order for them to work properly you need to have a custom relay/resistor harness or you can power them directly off the battery and run a switch to the cab for the ballasts.

Looks good, best of luck with it. I never bothered with HID's, they seem to be too much of a headache. Enjoy the truck and modding!

Welcome aboard.

Have you checked the supply lines for your lights to ensure your problem doesn't start there? If the voltage supply to your new circuitry is solid, send me a sketch & parts list of what you're doing & I'll have a quick look at it - I may have a thought or two that might help.

Welcome to the forum! Next on your list needs to be superchips if you really want to be grinning!!! (and a performance exhaust, these 4.7's sound sooooo sweet when you open up the exhaust). I tried HID's and never could get them working right in the headlights BUT, I threw a pair in the fogs a week or so ago and they work awesome without any wiring changes, relays, resisters, etc.

sylvania silverstar ultra, you should consider adding the factory fogs, they are suprisingly cheap and can be very effective if you put in 9005 bulbs. (chevy high beam bulbs) yes they fit.
