Default Lift and Tire Questions.

Ok, this summer I plan on adding a PA lift System (the one with the leveling kit and 3in body lift) to my truck. So my first Question is who has this lift and what do you think of it?
My second Question is about Tires I really want to go with Nitto Trail Grappler M/Ts 285-70-17 but I am not sure If they will fit the truck with the lift or if they will fit stock rims?

Welcome to DF! There are plenty of members that have the body lift and leveling kit. I believe the average install time is around 10 hours for the body lift, 2 hours for the leveling kit (assuming you don't run into half the problems that some members have ran into).

Tire size should be just fine. I run that same tire diameter and width on my truck with out a body lift...so you should only have to trim a minimal amount, if any at all.

Well the Nittos are out of the question. The price went up by $50 a tire. So now Im looking at BFG Mud - Terrain km2s... does anybody have any input?

BFG KM-2 M/Ts are awesome, as well as the Goodyear M/T-Rs. Toyo makes a great M/T as well. For me, I would stick with the BFGs or Goodyears.

I'm also looking at roughly the same sized Nitto tires but am leaning towards the terra grappler since this truck will be spending quite a bit of time on the road. According to the local tire experts, the noise is a lot less on the terra grappler as compared to the trail grappler and the on-road traction is quite a bit better as well.

I'm starting the leveling kit installation (along with other new suspension parts) this weekend and once that's in, I'll will be doing a trial fit of a Nitto 285/70 - 17. I've been assured that the tire will fit, but I want to see for myself

The BFGs seem pretty nice and I have heard that the road noise is not bad for an M/T.

Awesome... I would love to see pics when you are finshed. And good luck with the install.

I did plan on installing this kit myself until I read the online instalation instructions today. It seems a bit out of my capability range lol. Does anyone know how much it would cost to have the lift proffesionaly installed?

I've read some guys who say it takes 8-10 hours for a couple of people and a (few) cases of beer....that being said, if you have to pay someone to install the lift at todays labor rates it could get quite expensive imo.
