How many miles are on the truck?

Has the trans ever been serviced?

First thing I would check is the fluid level. These transmissions are very particular on the fluid level. If its low, check underneath to see if its leaking. Also, smell the fluid. It shouldn't smell burned.

Start with that. You could try resetting the computer, just incase its something the trans learned from your driving habits. I would personally schedule a fluid exchange and filter change at a reputable shop. Should cost somewhere between $100-$150, and insist that they use MOPAR filters. You don't want a high pressure flush, but an exchange where they use the pump inside the trans to pump old fluid out and new in is a great way to get all of the old fluid out of the system.

69K miles...fluid seems fine...no leaks anywhere....i am the second owner i bought the truck with 40K on it...i've never had the fluid changed so i'm guessing it has never been done....also, isn't getting a filter/gasket kit from a parts store and doing it myself just as good as having a shop do an exchange?

You can do the change, but you gotta use the factory part.

You won't be able to exchange all of the fluid in the system, but you will be able to change everything in that drains to the pan.

Could also be caused by engine surge. Does your engine occasionally surge/rev up and down when you put it in park? If so, it could be doing it while driving causing the computer to think you're trying to kick it down a gear. whoa, check it out, post #200

i have not noticed it when shifting into park...also...could this be as a result of my tune from the SC? I do not have an advanced tune...just the quick 87 tune which i love btw

first off...happy st pattys day!! and most importantly i have a new symptom with the trans...every once and a while there is a rattle which i can only explain by saying it sounds like a playing card rubbing a bike tire....its a very brief noise and ends with a slight hesitation in the trans....this cant be good

i was having problems with my trans jerking hard when switching into cruise mode on the streets and highways, also hard shifting into the diff gears like reverse and drive. i had recently had a fluid change and i thought it was weird i woudl start having problems after that. anyways i had the dealership check it out and they said my fluid was low and the gasket was leaking from the pan. they replaced the tranny filter/fluid/gasket and my truck has never shifted so damn good, not even when i bought it lol.

just some food for thought, it may be something that simple as a fix. i paid like 160$+ for the filter/gasket change
