Default Best HIDs for the Dakota

Looking for a good brand of HID's. I see the ebay stuff, and I see the Notto brand on CARID, and some other brands...has anyone had any experience with a particular brand they like and trust? Also, did the Dakota pull a code about the bulb, causing you to go out and buy a resistor?

no codes were thrown for me. just make sure you get a relay kit to pull power from the battery. it will solve all your hid flickering problems.

I use HIDextra low beams and Xentec fogs. I have a relay in my fogs and no problems but my low's I can't turn on after shutting them off. Doesn't bother me though..normajean what brand are your low's and how are they wired?

In massachusetts if you have HID fog lights they give you a ticket... I believe its illegal, I get pulled over for my exhaust system at least once a week as well...always in the same town too...only in Tospfield. One time the officer goes "I was in my cruiser and I was listening to music at level 16 and could still hear your truck...that is too loud" SO I go.... "Officer, why are you listening to music on your radio and not your Dispatch?" He replies... " Get the f*ck out of here..." ::hands back license and reg.::

I have a mismosh of things, I originally got from jkeaton, one of the ballasts was shot, so I got DDM tuning ballasts to replace them, and he gave me like 3 sets of bulbs, a relay and some sort of adapter from the oem headlight harness to the ballasts then to the bulbs, i cant find a picture online anywhere, but you cant wire the fogs to the headlight harness tho, or else the headlight wont work. so my fogs are wired to the running lights

pretty straight forward, just gotta mount the ballasts to the frame behind the headlights, some else with a relay can chime in on how they ran it across

I have had extremely good luck with ddmtuning.com. I have had them in my past three vehicles and they work flawless. No flickering or anything. They are plug and play and come with a lifetime warranty!
