Default Bad Battery Terminal Corrosion

Recently I've been experiecing bad really bad terminal corrision. I went to Advanced Autoparts the other day to have the battery tested and the guy mentioned something about the OEM painted terminal clamps causing it. Thought i could ask here before I fall into the autoparts store trap where they try to sell you useless crap. I've tried just cleaning them off real good with the baking soda and water trick, but it comes back. I'm just getting a real bad connection. So bad, it's noticable when I'm driving at night with the lights on the head lights dim with the bass of my music and also under acceleration.

Any tips will be appreciated greatly, Thanks..

For crying out loud, man, they're $0.99 a pair - you trying to break the bank?

My stock battery ALWAYS had negative terminal corrosion. Replaced the battery after it went bad and no corrosion with the new one, swapped stock terminals and still no corrosion. No clue really.

I've used the terminal protectors, still get corrosion. I just clean it up every so often. Is it the factory terminals causing this?

The battery in the truck isn't the stock one, but I found out that the clamps were replace by the previous owner to painted clamps because he liked the look better. The paint is what is causing the extra corrosion. Guess I'll be buying plain aluminum clamps when I get back into town next week.
