Default Transmission Trouble

Okay guys here are my codes:
p0740 TCC Control Circuit
p1775 Solenoid Switch Latched In TCC Position
p0218 High Temp Operation Activated

I have a dodge dakota 2005 recently my transmission temp light lit up and the next day my check engine light lit up.

Took it to a trans shop and asked them to check the obd and they came out with these codes up above.

My mechanic suggested I buy the torque converter solenoid...whats that and how does it look? Is my trans. pretty much dying already?

Can ya give us some more info about your truck? What engine and type of auto transmission (5-45rfe or other) are ya talkin about?

You might also wanna take a look at the service manual. It has a ton of help in it. check this thread out for the service manual... https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...s-manuals.html
