Default Hissing + Cruise Control Problems

Hello all,

A while back I noticed a hissing that was coming from behind the glove box. Then I noticed that my cruise control was not changing gears (downshifting) and dad told me that it all works on the vacuum system. I decided to do some investigating and found that there is a connection running from the engine compartment to the cab (like an elbow joint of sorts), and when I pinch it the hissing stops. I don't have a picture of it right now, but could someone tell me the name of that part and if it is something I can replace? I'm a total novice when it comes to engine repairs but can get myself around with proper instructions.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Cruise is Electronic on 06+ Daks, 05 is still a Servo, as the throttle is still a cable, not electronic to.

Per the service manual, on the 2005, the tube that elbows into the firewall is connected to a vacuum reservoir for the cruise control system. The reservoir is mounted on the bottom of the windshield wiper cowl, and can only be replaced, not repaired. There's also a check valve, but it's not clear the exact location on the line.
